What we collect through martechbar.com, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

MarTechBar is a consulting firm for marketing, martech, AI in revenue, RevOps and growth, working with companies in India and abroad. This policy explains what personal data we collect through martechbar.com, why, and the choices you have. When we say “we”, “us” or “MarTechBar”, we mean the firm that runs this website.

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through our Contact page. We will reply within 30 days.

What we collect, and why

When you contact us

If you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, company and your message, and we use them to reply and follow up on your enquiry. We do this because you asked us to.

When you use a diagnostic

Your score is shown on screen and costs nothing. When you finish a diagnostic, we save your answers without your name, email address or IP address, to build anonymous benchmarks. These answers cannot be linked back to you.

When you ask for your results and the full report

If you fill in the form under your results, we store your name, work email, company, role (if given), company website (if given), the competitors you name, and your answers. We use them to email you a copy of your preliminary results straight away, to prepare your full report, and to follow up about it. We do this with the consent you give on the form, which you can withdraw at any time.

Your full report is based on your answers. Where you name competitors, we look only at what those companies publish themselves or what is publicly visible about them on review sites. We do not contact them and do not share your answers with them.

When you download a resource

If you fill in a form to download a free resource, such as the AI account-research agent, we store your name, work email, company, role (if given) and which resource you asked for. We use them to email you a private link to the files, which works for 30 days, and to follow up about the resource. We do this with the consent you give on the form, which you can withdraw at any time. We record how often your link is opened, so we can see whether the resource is useful.

Cookies and similar technology

When you first visit, we ask you to choose:

  • Decline: only the storage the site needs to work and to remember your choice.
  • Analytics only: also analytics cookies (Google Analytics), so we can see which pages and tools help visitors. These record things such as pages viewed, the tool you used and your score, but not your name or email.
  • Accept all: also advertising cookies, used to measure whether our campaigns reach the right people.

Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager load on every page, but until you choose they set no cookies. Before you choose, Google Analytics sends Google only a basic signal that a page was viewed, with no cookie or identifier that links one visit to another, which Google uses to estimate visitor numbers. Analytics cookies are set only if you choose Analytics only or Accept all. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the foot of every page; if you decline later, we remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs, which include IP addresses, to keep the site secure and working. Our page fonts are delivered by Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google to fetch them.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers who help us run the site and the service, and only for that purpose:

  • Hostinger, which hosts this website and sends its emails.
  • Google, for Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (without cookies unless you allow analytics or all cookies) and Google Fonts.
  • Vimeo, which plays our videos. Nothing loads from Vimeo until you press play, and we ask Vimeo not to track you.
  • Our partners, the MarTechBar consultants who prepare and send your report.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

Where your data is stored

Our providers may store and process data outside the country you live in, including in India, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries, report requests and resource downloads: for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Anonymous diagnostic answers: for as long as they are useful for benchmarks. They contain nothing that identifies you.
  • Analytics data: for the retention period set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it for follow-up, or withdraw a consent you gave;
  • name someone to act for you, where the law allows.

To use any of these rights, write to us through our Contact page. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Board of India or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

This website is for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
